testing out my new film camera

I got on the road for a weekend camping trip with my new 35mm Nikon FM and a roll of Kodak ultramax. I did forget to take my cutting board and knife to cook my food.

I stopped on the side of the road to take a photo to show my Tim Hortons double double. Nothing significant but I always go through a Tims drive-thru before a long drive. I thought it’s been an old enough tradition for me, it's high time I document it.

While I was composing the first frame, I noticed an older generation of my car passing by. It was the perfect photo.

This trip was unplanned and one of the most relaxing camping trips I’ve ever done. I spent more than 4 hours on my hammock reading, falling a sleep, waking up, and falling a sleep again until it got dark.

It had been a long time since I used a film camera. I truly enjoyed the process. When I went to drop off the film roll at the local photo lab I soon remembered why I stopped shooting film the last time. It’s a vicious cycle. Shooting film is very expensive. It is truly a luxury…..like the nature we are surrounded by in Beautiful British Columbia.
